When I used to come up here for weekends, there is a certain curve in the road when I got close to Blue Ridge, once you go around that curve and the mountains greets you, the stress just leaves your shoulders. I decided then that I needed a change in my life.

    At the same time my sister and brother-in-law decided to leave California and move closer to Florida and where our parents live. They decided Blue Ridge was great and the three of us bought a small building in historic downtown Blue Ridge. We started an antique shop which later became a clothing and gift shop (made sense since my sister and I both like to buy clothes). A couple of years later I decided to try my hand at real estate and now I am a full time agent.

    I am very involved in the community and volunteer work, my most important venture right now is being the President of the Humane Society of Blue Ridge. We are in the process of raising funds for a shelter for dogs and cats, right now we use foster homes and boarding facilities.
